This is my last newsletter as Chair of the Rowan Republican Party. It has been a pleasure to work with you, our Rowan Republicans, this past year. I look forward to continuing to work with you through new roles. Mark your calendar to attend the Rowan County Republican Party Precinct Meetings and Convention on Saturday March 11. See details below. We will be electing our party leadership for the 2023-2025 term.

4 Rowan Republican Breakfast Club, 8:30AM at Porky’s BBQ, 1309 N Main St, China Grove. More info call: 704-640-8129. (Monthly 1st Saturday). Mr. Brian Summers, the guest speaker, has been active in the Republican Party for many years. He has held positions in the White House, Senate and House. He in on the Board of Directors of the Jesse Helms Center.
9 NO Rowan Republican Party and Executive Committee Meeting in March due to the convention.
11 Rowan County Republican Convention, 8:30 -9:00AM Registration; 9:00- 9:30AM Precinct Meetings; 9:30 -11:30AM Convention. At County Administration Building, 130 W. Innes St., Salisbury. $10 Registration. Can pre-pay at: click here. Everyone will check-in to get a name tag. The name tag is your proof that you are eligible to vote. Please allow time to find parking. No one will be registered as a voting member of the convention after 9:00AM.

25 Elizabeth Dole Dinner Honoring Republican Women, 6 PM, at Cauble Creek Vineyard, 700 Cauble Farm Rd, Salisbury. Keynote Speaker - The Liberty Belle Christin McMasters. Presented by the Rowan Republican Women. Open to men and women. For tickets: Click Here.
27 Executive Committee Training. For all members of the 2023-2025 Rowan Republican Executive Committee, to include officers, members-at-large, elected officials in partisan positions, Precinct Chairs, and Precinct Vice-Chairs. Training will be 6:00-7:15 PM for All members of the Executive Committee. 7:30-8:15 PM for Precinct Chairs and Vice-Chairs only. Light sandwiches and snacks will be available. Please register by emailing [email protected] or texting 704-450-2764. Training will be in the Stanback Auditorium of the Rowan Public Library at 201 W Fisher St, Salisbury.
Looking Ahead: April and beyond
April District convention, normally held in April, will be postponed until new congressional district lines are approved by the General Assembly. We will elect county representatives to the District Executive Committee when we know our allotted number of positions after the new districts are established. This does not affect the state GOP convention.

I would like to say a special thank you to the officers who have helped in so many ways during my time as Party Chair. Greg Skelly was the key person behind our 2022 and 2023 Lincoln Reagan Dinners and our Primary Candidate Forums. HIs positive leadership and inputs have been invaluable. Tyler Smith, our Treasurer, has done an exceptional job, tracking the monies and processes for each event and routine financial transactions. His attention to detail has been a blessing. I'd like to thank Melissa Eller and then Pat Blide as Secretary to the Party. Both contributed so much more than just taking minutes.
